MEDICINE HAT, AB – The hunt for a sixth consecutive Rangeland Football Conference title began swimmingly for the Medicine Hat High Mohawks football team on Friday night.

Opening their season against the Monsignor McCoy Colts at the Methanex Bowl, the Mohawks scored early and often against the Colts to pick up a 51-6 victory.

The win keeps up Hat High’s undefeated streak in Rangeland Football Conference play, which stretches back to the 2017 season.

As for their cross-town rivals in the Crescent Heights Vikings, they also moved to a 1-0 record on the season with a 20-13 win on the road against the Brooks Buffalos.

Exhibition games are planned for next Friday for local clubs, with the Mohawks in Okotoks to battle the Holy Trinity Academy Knights and the Vikings squaring off against Taber’s W.R. Myers Rebels.

The McCoy Colts will play host to Pincher Creek in exhibition play, while Brooks will face the Cardston Cougars on the road.
