Tigers lose first pre-season game against Swift Current

IRVINE, AB — The Medicine Hat Tigers dropped their first game of the preseason on Wednesday.

The Tigers were defeated 4-2 by the Swift Current Broncos at the Irvine Sports Complex Wednesday evening.

The Tigers fielded a roster filled heavily with younger prospects, with several of the team’s veteran players at NHL camps this week.

Brandon Machado, Kye Buchanan, Josh Davies and Aiden Bulych all scored for the Broncos through the game.

Jaxon Steele and Noah Danielson had the Tigers’ goals through the game. Dru Krebs, Cole Sillinger, Kadyn Chabot and Henry Smith all recorded assists.

Garin Bjorklund faced 39 shots through the game for the Tgiers, making 36 saves.

The Broncos played both Reid Dyck and Jordan Fairlie during the game, with Dyck being credited with the victory in net. Dyck joined the game halfway through the second period, stopping eight of of 9 shots faced.

Pre-season for the Tigers continues on Saturday, as they travel to Regina to take on the Pats. The game is set to begin at 7 p.m.
