Two taken to hospital following four vehicle collision on highway

MEDICINE HAT, AB — Police, firefighters and EMS responded to a four vehicle collision which sent two people to hospital Tuesday afternoon on the Trans-Canada Highway.

The collision occurred at approximately 2 p.m. near the 16th Street Southwest intersection.

Among the vehicles involved were a large truck and a SUV.

Police say the two people transported to hospital have undetermined injuries.

The collision has caused traffic delays, with motorists being backed up to the College Drive overpass at one point. Emergency services will remain on scene until the roadway can be cleared.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.

Police estimate the total damage from the crash at over $40,000.
