MEDICINE HAT, AB — A man who pleaded guilty to robbing two banks in Medicine Hat will wait another month to learn his sentence.

Stephen Vogelsang was scheduled to be sentenced on two counts of robbery in Medicine Hat provincial court on Tuesday, however his sentencing has been adjourned to August 26.

Vogelsang was arrested in Medicine Hat in October 2017 after a RBC branch and BMO branch in the city were robbed.

He was also charged in connection with four robberies in Saskatchewan which occurred between July and October 2017.

Vogelsang spent many years as the sports anchor and news director at what is now CTV Winnipeg, and news of his charges made headlines across Canada. Vogelsang was also a journalism instructor at Red River College.

On April 5, Vogelsang pleaded guilty to four counts of robbery in Saskatchewan, receiving a five-year prison sentence, though with credit for time served, still has three years to serve.

He pleaded guilty to the Medicine Hat charges on April 18.
