Stampede Parade float winners announced

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede Parade brought smiles to people throughout Thursday morning.

Late Thursday night, the organization released the winning floats in multiple categories.

In the Cowboys and Cowgirls junior class, Brekkyn Van Buskirk won first place, while in the senior class, Melissa Davies took home first place. Don Davies won second place in the seniors class, while Marg Biensch took home third place.

The Western Riding Group category saw Alberta Corrections win first place.

In the Comic (open) class, the Shriners Club took home first place, followed by the Medicine Hat Al-Azhar Shrine Club and Fred Holt.

In the Comic open category, Tractor Pedal Farm Class was named the winner.

Cypress View Veterinary Clinic took home first place in the commercial float category, while IG Wealth took home second place and True North Class 6 Organizations was awarded third place.

In the organizations category, Ultimate Cheer Fusion was awarded first place. The Medicine Hat Women’s Shelter Society took home second place, while the Rotary Clubs of Medicine Hat won third place.

For communities, the Town of Redcliff’s float was awarded first place, followed by the Medicine Hat and District Food Bank and Cypress County.

The Stampede awarded three floats in a category named “Big People Helping Little People.” Salta Gymnastics was named first place in the category, while Cypress School of Skating won second place and the McMan Parent Link Centre won third place.

Finally, the Forsyth Ranch was awarded in the special ranch category.
