Four people dead in B.C. float plane crash
VICTORIA – Four people have been confirmed dead in a float plane crash on a small island off the northern tip of Vancouver Island.
Lt. Chelsea Dubeau with the Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre in Victoria says they received word this afternoon about the crash of a Cessna 208 float plane on Addenbroke Island.
She says the BC Ferries vessel Northern Sea Wolf was on scene quickly because it was nearby and a rescue helicopter is now on scene.
Dubeau says it’s unclear how many people were on the plane, but rescue personnel have confirmed that four people who were aboard are dead.
