I believe the point Crescent Heights residents are trying to make is there is little shopping on that side of town. Most people purchase grocery items weekly or every few days. All the expansion for shopping is on the south side of town. There are exactly how many grocery stores types on the south side of town – 7 – not including the Hill or Flats, how many are in the North end 1 and if you include the 1 that requires a membership – you can count 2. Those that complain about the CANALTA Centre being on the North end of town is too far to go to events at the most a monthly basis so refuse to go because of the 20 minute drive, now that is ridiculous.

To the person who said crescent heights people complaining we need a store in crescent heights and it’s only 20-minute drive! You are right it is, but some people don’t drive maybe and you must live in the south to say what you said!

The area of Saamis Heights only has the one way in and out. But the City of Medicine Hat has decided to put a school right by the entrance. If the city planning department had been thinking, they would put a second entrance to Saamis before putting a school in the area. Plus, the school is a French immersion school meaning that the general population will not be going there. If I were to decide what type of school to put, I would put a regular English school (this means Prairie Rose School Division or Medicine Hat Catholic Board If Education)

I don’t think anyone in NECH or NWCH wants the mega shopping that occurs in south ridge, but a few additional stores would be nice.
