Cypress County battle grass fire near Onefour

CYPRESS COUNTY, AB — Cypress County firefighters are currently battling a grass fire in the south part of Cypress County.

According to Alberta Emergency Alert, a grass fire is currently burning in an area to the north of Township Road 14 and West of Highway 41, close to the area of Onefour.

An alert was sent out at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

Fire crews are currently holding the fire, but there is reduced visibility in the region.

People are being advised to avoid the area if possible.

The emergency was lifted at 5:50 p.m., with the county posting the fire had been contained. Firefighters continued to monitor the fire.
