Company possibly operating under new name while under investigation

Medicine Hat, AB – The owner of The HVAC Guys Inc., a defunct furnace installation company under investigation by the city, may be operating under a different name and possibly without a business license.

Darrin Craig answered the phone when CHAT News called Gas City Heating and Air Conditioning Wednesday morning.

The city confirmed that company does not have a current business license.

Craig has been court ordered to provide past records from The HVAC Guys Inc.

The city is looking into whether The HVAC Guys Inc. was installing furnaces without the proper permits.

Only nine permits were issued to The HVAC Guys Inc. over a three year period but the company had bought 31 furnaces.

An inspection of a furnace allegedly installed by the company revealed several deficiencies.

Craig did not want to comment on the investigation or the court ordered when reached this morning.

The city has asked anyone who had a furnace installed by The HVAC Guys Inc. over the last years to contact them.
