MEDICINE HAT, AB — A 57-year-old woman has been charged after a vehicle struck the outside of a pub in Southridge Tuesday afternoon.

Medicine Hat police were called to Jiggers Pub at 12:18 p.m. after a Ford Edge ran into the front of the building.

There were no injuries to anyone inside of the pub. Police believe alcohol was a factor in the collision.

Police say the driver of the Ford Edge is facing one charge of failure to provide a breath sample at the scene, and one charge of one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. She has since been released from police custody, and police say no further charges are expected.

Police say the pub suffered extensive structural damage from the collision, though an exact dollar amount is not known.
