MEDICINE HAT, AB — Redcliff’s Dylan MacPherson has inked his first professional contract.

The former Medicine Hat Tigers defenceman has signed a one-year, one-way AHL contract with the Springfield Thunderbirds.

The T-Birds made the announcement through a press release on their website.

MacPherson made his professional debut in April after signing an Amateur Try Out with the Thundebirds. After skating in his first AHL game on April 12, the 21-year-old collected his first career point two nights later, assisting on a second period marker.

Despite going unselected in the WHL and NHL Entry Draft’s, MacPherson scored 43 points in 181 games as a three-year career Tiger.
