Former Tiger White commits to Carleton University, suffers torn Achilles tendon

MEDICINE HAT, AB — Freshly graduated from the Western Hockey League, Jaeger White is ready to take his next step in his hockey career.

The local product has formally committed to Carleton University in Ottawa for the fall and says he’s thrilled to begin a new chapter with the Ravens.

Except there’s one problem — the 21-year-old suffered an Achilles injury believed to be a tear while training last month. He’s been on crutches ever since, and intends to begin rehabilitation with the Ravens medical staff at the end of July.

Although a recovery timeline isn’t yet known, White says he’s hopeful to make his Ravens debut ahead of the playoffs next spring.

Ironically, his former teammate and good friend Peyton Krebs suffered a very similar injury on the same day. White says he’s been in touch with Krebs over the last few weeks, bouncing off questions and feedback as both players look to return to the ice as soon as possible.
