Drivers reminded to slow down in construction zones
MEDICINE HAT, AB — As the construction season ramps up this summer, Medicine Hat police are reminding motorists to slow down while going through construction zones.
On Wednesday, officers focused on enforcing speed limits in construction zones. Members of the traffic unit handed out 19 speeding tickets for people going over 30 kilometres per hour in the zones.
According to Traffic Sergeant Clarke White with the Medicine Hat Police Service, one driver was ticketed driving 61 kilometres per hour, more than double the limit.
