Sophie De Goede, Canada beat France 36-19 at Rugby Super Series

CHULA VISTA, Calif. — No. 4 Canada rebounded in its second game of the Rugby Super Series with a 36-19 win over No. 3 France on Tuesday.
Tyson Beukeboom and Janna Slevinsky scored first-half tries while Sophie De Goede tacked on a penalty and two conversions to give the Canadians a 17-12 advantage at the break.
Sabrina Poulin, Laura Russell and Amanda Thornborough added a try each in the second half. De Goede’s two second-half conversions brought her to 11 points total in the match.
Canada will face No. 2 England on Saturday. The Canadians opened the five-team tournament with a 35-20 loss against No. 1 New Zealand.
