Sillinger, Ceulemans invited to Canada’s U-17 development camp

MEDICINE HAT, AB — Two local prospects are heading to Calgary next month to tryout for Team Canada ahead of the World U-17 Hockey Challenge.

Medicine Hat Tigers prospect Cole Sillinger and Brooks Bandits prospect Corson Ceulemans were both invited to Hockey Canada’s U-17 development camp.

Sillinger is among 64 forwards invited to the camp, and the only one from the Medicine Hat Tigers invited.

Sillinger led the Saskatchewan midget AAA league in scoring last year, finishing with 76 points in 39 games (31 goals, 45 assists) . He also had one goal and three points in 10 regular season and playoff games with the Tigers.

Ceulemans was part of the Brooks Bandits at the National Junior A Championship this spring, winning first place with the team. He scored three points in five games at the tournament.

A total of 112 players were invited to the camp. Hockey Canada will create three teams of 22 players, who will compete at the World U-17 Hockey Challenge in Medicine Hat and Swift Current from November 2-9.
