No injuries in oil storage facility fire in M.D. of Taber
MD OF TABER, AB – M.D. of Taber fire crews were put to work Tuesday night following a lightning strike.
According to a Facebook post from the service, Stations 4 and 7 were alerted to the strike north of Township Road 10-2, east of Highway 36 at 11:21 p.m.
Eight vehicles responded initially. On scene, it was discovered that the blaze was a fully engulfed oil storage site. The Duty Officer requested assistance to crews from the Grassy Lake and Vauxhall areas as well as water trucks from four water haulers, including the M.D. of Taber.
Alberta Health Services’ EMS responded to offer medical screenings to firefighters.
