Clouston named head coach of Kamloops Blazers

KAMLOOPS, B.C. — Shaun Clouston will remain in the Western Hockey League this fall.

The Kamloops Blazers have announced Clouston, who was been with the Tigers since 2003, was hired as the head coach for the coming season.

Clouston was with the Tigers since 2003 as an assistant and associate coach, winning two WHL championships (2004 and 2007). He became the head coach of the Tigers in 2010. During his tenure as head coach, the Tigers made the WHL playoffs eight out of nine seasons.

Clouston holds the record for most wins as a Tigers head coach, and is currently ranks third in terms of total wins among active WHL coaches, according to a news release from the Blazers.

In addition to Clouston, Darryl Sydor was named the Blazers’ associate coach.
