HAMBURG, GERMANY – Medicine Hat’s Dawson Murschell was at the helm of a stunner on the world stage on Saturday, leading Canada to a monstrous win at the 2019 World Cup of Darts.

Paired with Jim Long, the Canadian duo took down the fifth-ranked Australian team of Simon Whitlock and Kyle Anderson by a 2-0 score to advance to the quarter-final stage.

Coming off a win over Italy in the first round, Murschell clawed back after Whitlock threw six perfect darts to begin the first leg.

Murschell would eventually go on to take the first leg 4-3 to put Team Australia on the ropes.

Long was also able to come through in the second leg for Canada, stunning Anderson with a 4-3 win himself to put the red and white through to the third round.

With eight countries remaining in the World Cup of Darts bracket, Murschell and Long will get ready to face the fourth-ranked squad from the Netherlands on Sunday with a spot in the semi-finals on the line.
