Canada sweeps Australia to open weekend at home in Volleyball Nations League
OTTAWA — Canada swept Australia 3-0 (25-23, 25-17, 25-18) to open the second weekend of the five-week pool play stage of Volleyball Nations League on Friday night at TD Place.
Sharone Vernon-Evans of Toronto led Canada with 20 points.
Canada rallied from a 16-14 deficit in the first set as attacking and serving errors from Australia gave the home side the advantage.
The Canadians went up 16-9 in the second set and finished it with an ace by Brett Walsh.
