Canada to face Mexico in quarters at FIBA under-16 Americas Championship

BELEM, Brazil — DJ Jackson had a game-high 22 points in just 20 minutes of work off the bench as Canada cruised past Puerto Rico 96-76 on Wednesday to finish first in Group B at the FIBA under-16 Americas Championship.
The Canadians improved to 3-0 and set up a matchup with Mexico (0-3) in the tournament quarterfinals on Friday.
Caleb Houstan added 17 points and five rebounds for Canada while Shaedon Sharpe had 15 points.
Canada opened the game with a 10-0 run and was ahead 47-28 at halftime before running its lead to 33 points after three quarters.
