Local kettlebell lifter Schmaltz cruises to gold at Canadian championships

OTTAWA, ON – Local kettlebell lifting instructor Amy Schmaltz can call herself a national champion, winning gold in Canada’s capital city on Saturday.
Competing at the Canadian Kettlebell Sport Nationals, Schmaltz posted a score of 206 points in the 16 kilogram two-arm biathlon to win the national title.
Schmaltz beat her own personal record in the jerk set event, while she put up a score of 198 in the snatch category.
Going along with her gold medal, the local representative from Temple Fitness also took home the overall women’s biathlon award as well.
