BREAKING: Former Maverick Jacob Webb called up by Atlanta Braves

ATLANTA, GA – A historic day for the Medicine Hat Mavericks organization, as one of their own has received a call to the major leagues.

Former Mavericks pitcher Jacob Webb learned Sunday he had been called up by the Atlanta Braves after five years in the minor leagues.

He becomes the first Maverick to ever make it to the MLB after being drafted by Atlanta in the 18th round of the 2014 MLB Draft.

Webb played two seasons in Medicine Hat between 2012 and 2013, posting a 1-3 record and a 3.92 ERA over that span.

However, his Mavericks career was highlighted by his 2013 campaign where he pitched in 20 games and threw up a 1-1 record, a 0.94 ERA, and 43 strikeouts.

Following his time in Medicine Hat, Webb started his climb through the minor leagues with stops in the single-A, double-A, and finally triple-A levels being called up from the Gwinnett Stripers of the International League.
