Bojanov captures double gold in Medicine Hat, eyes national team spot
MEDICINE HAT, AB – Alberta’s cream of the crop when it comes to fencing are coming off a wild weekend chasing provincial glory in the ‘Gas City.’
That included one Albertan who is quickly rising through the provincial and national ranks, with goals of Olympic glory on his mind.
It was a double dose of provincial gold for 20-year-old Boris Bojanov, who captured first place finishes in both the senior and junior men’s foil brackets.
Taking down Sullivan Pan in the senior final, Bojanov was able to rally with a flurry of late strikes to win the championship at the Family Leisure Centre.
