MEDICINE HAT, AB — As Hatters prepare for the upcoming election, students at the Medicine Hat College voiced their opinions on what matters to them.

“If there’s any way to help students out with the costs of education I’m all for that. I think it’s stupid expensive and it’s kind of unfortunate that you have to put yourself into a bunch of debt just to do better in life,” said one student.

This was a common value of students at the college, more affordable education.

“Whoever gets in, I certainly hope they look at lowering tuition to make education more affordable for everyone,” said another student.

For international students, the cost to attend college can be even higher.

“Especially for the international students since the tuition is really high, it would be nice if they think about that,” a different student said.

Another issue brought up by some students was class sizes.

“I really just hope we can kind of keep class sizes to a minimum size. It’s really nice here, there’s class sizes of about 19 people,” said another.

The election takes place on April 16.
