Fifth avenue church named municipal historic resource
MEDICINE HAT, AB — Fifth Avenue Memorial Church has officially been designated as a municipal historic resource.
City Council voted unanimously to pass the designation following approval from the structures owners.
The church located at 476 4 Street SE was first built in 1913, and re-built following a devastating fire in 1931. It was initially named Fifth Avenue Methodist church, re-named to Fifth Avenue United Church in 1925, and finally changed to Fifth Avenue Memorial Church in 1988.
