City unemployment rate up over same time last year

MEDICINE HAT, AB. — The unemployment rate for Medicine Hat for July was 4.8 per cent.
That’s down from 5 per cent in June, although Stats Canada always cautions against month to month comparisons due to a small sample size.
However, a year ago the unemployment rate for Medicine Hat was 3.6 per cent.
Regionally, the rate for Medicine Hat and Lethbridge was 4.7 per cent in July, a decline of 2 tenths of a per cent from June.
