APARC temporarily suspending cat intake from Redcliff and Cypress County due to space issues
MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Alberta Pound and Rescue Centre says they are not currently accepting cats from outside Medicine Hat in its shelter.
The organization made the announcement on Facebook on Monday, saying they are suspending intake from Redcliff and Cypress County at the moment due to space limitations.
“Right now, we are contractually obligated to serve Medicine Hat first,” said Kaylyn Genio, general manager of APARC. “As we have space, we can accept animals outside of Medicine Hat city, but right now, we’re overrun with cats, we don’t have adoptions flying out of the doors, so we do have to serve Medicine Hat first, and look at the county and outside areas like Redcliff later on.”
