REGINA, SK — Stellar performances on the mound highlighted a pair of victories by the Medicine Hat Mavericks over the Regina Red Sox on Wednesday night.
Jaymon Cervantes pitched seven near-perfect shutout innings in a 6-0 victory to open the evening, then four separate arms helped secure a 3-2 nail-biter to leave the Queen City unblemished.
Barry Caine pitch the opening four innings in game two, allowing Regina’s only two runs. Ryan Czanstkowski and Sean Cruz filled in the fifth and sixth innings respectively allowing one hit each, and Tyler Shumpert earned the save with a final one-hit seventh inning.
