SIKSIKA FIRST NATION, AB. – Leaders of the Siksika First Nation near Calgary have banished three people from their reserve because of drug trafficking.

Councillor Buck Breaker says they usually wait for R-C-M-P to deal with suspected criminals but decided to take action on their own.

He says people in the community have died from drugs such as meth, heroin and fentanyl.

Breaker says the band leadership wants to prevent people from being exposed to any more risks.
