Ex-PQ leader Boisclair arrested for suspected drunk driving: reports
QUEBEC — Former Parti Quebecois leader Andre Boisclair was arrested Thursday for allegedly driving while under the influence of alcohol, a Montreal radio station reported.
Cogeco-owned 98,5 FM said Quebec City police arrested Boisclair shortly after midnight.
Police did not confirm Boisclair, 51, was the person arrested but TV footage showed the ex-politician leaving a Quebec City police station just before noon Thursday.
Earlier in the day, a clerk at the local courthouse said a name matching Boisclair’s was on a list of people expected to appear but the individual was not arraigned later in the day.
