Tigers hosting Prospects Orientation Camp this weekend

MEDICINE HAT, AB— The future of the Medicine Hat Tigers will be in town on Friday.

The team hosts its annual Prospects Orientation Camp starting Friday evening at the Family Leisure Centre.

The camp features the most recent bantam draft picks and listed players born in 2000, 2001 and 2002.

This year, the buzz falls on Garin Bjorklund, picked by the Tigers 21st overall in the first round of this year’s WHL bantam draft.

The goaltender posted strong numbers last season with the Calgary Bisons Triple A program.

The first ice session begins at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Sessions continue on Saturday with the goaltenders session of 2:45 p.m. and the players following at 3:45 p.m.

On Sunday morning, the annual Team Black vs Team White scrimmage to decide the winner of the orientation camp trophy. The game begins at 9:45 a.m.

All on-ice sessions are free for the public to attend and watch.
