Improving your love life by attracting positive people

Unlike in science, where positive attracts negative, in social interactions, being positive attracts other positive people.

A great love life – one that features interesting dates that lead to great relationship prospects – is built on meeting positive people to share interests, free time and sense of humour. But how do you go about finding and attracting such people? Here are some tips:

Make sure your outlook is positive

Are you positive about life in general and your love life in particular? If you’ve been burnt by a few bad relationships or romantic disappointments, make sure this isn’t spilling over into your search for a fresh start.

To be optimistic is not the same as being naïve; an optimistic person is far more attractive than a cynical one. Take steps to put the past behind you and learn from previous mistakes.

Take up hobbies

If you find yourself busily engaged in a variety of interests, you’ll find it’s much easier to connect with others. People with a range of different skills and hobbies are doers –  they’re not sitting at home, sprawling in front of the TV.

If you’re busy and active, you’ll meet other busy, active people –  and attract them, too. Having similar hobbies is the perfect foundation for a great relationship, plus it will make you more confident and outgoing.

If you’re trying online dating with eHarmony Canada, you’ll be able to compare interests by checking out their profile. Make sure your profile is reflective of your energetic and engaged lifestyle.

Be proactive about dating

If you’re serious about making improvements to your love life, you’ll be taking on the challenge of finding a soul-mate. Be open to all options – why leave it to chance?

Sign up for speed dating, ask friends to arrange blind dates, accept all invitations. Set up your online dating profile so that you can make contact with a wide variety of like-minded people. Make sure you portray yourself as a positive person who is taking part in life and not letting it pass you by.

Do unto others…

If you want to be treated with respect and date good people, you should treat everyone you come across with decency and respect. Everyone deserves to be dealt with honestly and openly, especially with online dating, where you’re putting yourself out there and interacting with strangers on a constant basis.

Laptop

Don’t play games with the feelings of others, let them know if you’re interested and let them down gently if you’re not, turn up to dates on time and give people a chance. This will garner you the respect and good dating karma that you deserve: set the bar high with how you interact with others, and their behaviour will match it.
