MEDICINE HAT, AB – The long wait for junior lacrosse in Medicine Hat comes to an end on Saturday night with the home opener for the Medicine Hat Sun Devils.

The Sun Devils will be playing their first home games of the 2018 Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League season this weekend after a promising road trip in Calgary.

Medicine Hat was bested 11-6 by the Calgary Axemen in their season opener last Saturday, but turned around to defeat the Calgary Sabrecats 18-8 the following day.

Second-year Sun Devil Izaak Loran leads the team with 12 points over his first two contests of the season, while Aidan McLean is tops in goal scoring with a team-high six markers.

Medicine Hat will be hosting the red-hot Olds Stingers on Saturday, with Olds winning their first two games of the season last weekend by a combined score of 18-9.

Shutting down the duo of Braden Smith and Alex Wigley will be the top priority for Medicine Hat, as the pair has netted eight of the Stingers’ 18 goals this season.

Opening face off between the Sun Devils and Stingers is set for 6:30 pm at the Kinplex.
