County of 40 Mile enters fifth day of state of local emergency

FOREMOST, AB — The County of 40 Mile is now entering the fifth day of a local state of emergency.

Crews are focusing on pumping water near the Burdett lift station.

The county is reporting some good news today however. There were no surges and some of the water on roads have started to recede.

Stewart Payne, director of emergency operations with the county, says water pumping and road maintenance are the focus today.

The state of local emergency will remain in effect over the weekend, and be reassessed on Monday.
