Mad Hatter & Happy Hatter – April 19

Apr 19, 2018 | 8:16 AM

Mad Hatter
To the person who said; “Very disappointed in the huge mess the city has made with the careless and mindless spreading of hundreds of tons of gravel;” You would probably be the first to complain when the streets were slippery, and the City didn’t sand them. What a hypocrite!!!!!

Happy Hatter
So thankful Medicine Hat is in this little spring bubble when it seems the rest of Canada is covered in snow and ice!

Mad Hatter
People who make commitments and then back out without a word. People are so unreliable.

Mad Hatter
Those that complain about FLC being subsidized are probably the same that complain about the Canalta Centre and the transit not being utilized.  The city parks with playground equipment could be considered subsidized as we don’t pay to utilize them.  For Medicine Hat to grow and bring in new businesses we need facilities to attract them.  Other cities do the same thing.

Happy Hatter
Super happy to hear about the marijuana plant that will be built in town. The high paying and steady jobs that place will create is going to be really awesome! Happy to see Medicine Hat moving towards a brighter future.

Mad Hatter
That elderly people honestly think that violent video games are the reason why kids are shooting up schools. I’ve played first person shooters and I’ve never had the thought to shoot up a school. I bet a lot of video gamers can agree that violent video games are NOT the reason.

Mad Hatter
I guess we better change our cities slogan to The Weed City. This whole legal pot crap is ridiculous. What’s next? Meth? Just because it’s to hard to control doesn’t mean we should legalize it. The drug problem is only going to get worse, not better.

Mad Hatter
I think it’s a little hypocritical that Christian groups are so up in arms over the grant cuts due to their beliefs – especially when they expect the rest of the country, and even the world should follow their beliefs. Just look at their track record on Gay Marriage and LGBT rights alone, and the fact that they expect the rest of the country to get on board with their side of the argument. I do agree that their funding shouldn’t have been cut on that basis – but they should be careful how they present themselves.

Happy Hatter
It is great to see Calgary looking at ways to charge less for those who reduce waste by giving the opportunity for a smaller black bin, they are even looking at number of pickups as well.  Those that utilize more should pay more just like other items on the utility bills.  Medicine Hat should look at something similar now that blue bins cost is going to be implemented.
