One home evacuated due to overland flooding in County of 40 Mile

COUNTY OF 40 MILE, AB – One home has been evacuated in the County of 40 Mile, according to the region’s reeve.

Reeve Steve Wikkerink says the evacuated home is located west of 40 Mile Park.

Wikkerink adds another 4 to  5 homes  located near Yellow Lake are at risk of being evacuated, though no order has been issued as of 7 p.m.

A state of local emergency was declared on Monday due to the overland flooding which has impacted the region since Sunday.

The county has updated its list of closed roads below.
