Man charged in New Year’s Eve homicide adjourned until April 24

MEDICINE HAT, AB – One of the two men charged with second-degree murder in connection with a homicide on New Year’s Eve will appear in court again later this month.

Luke Boxell was scheduled for arraignment on Friday, but his case was adjourned for trial on April 24 in the Medicine Hat Court of Queen’s Bench, according to Court Check.

Boxell, 22, along with Leonard Beaulieu, 25, were arrested and charged with second degree murder in connection with the murder of Jordan Pede.

Pede, 24, was found suffering from a gunshot wound in Strathcona Island Park on New Year’s Eve. He died 11 days later in a Calgary hospital.
