Rassell, Quenneville win big at Tigers awards banquet

MEDICINE HAT, AB — It was a big night Wednesday for Tigers Mark Rassell and David Quenneville.

Both players were named Team MVP during the team’s end of season awards banquet at the Medicine Hat Lodge.

During the regular season, Rassell scored 50 goals and notched 30 assists for 80 points, while Quenneville also recorded 80 points (26 goals, 56 assists) to lead WHL defencemen in scoring. Rassell and Quenneville also split the Leading Scorer Award.

Rassell took home five awards during the evening, including the Playoff MVP award, the Gerald Moyer Leadership Award, the Tigers 3 Stars Award, the Community Service award and the Most Goals award.

Quenneville also took home the top defenceman award.

James Hamblin walked away with the Top Defensive Forward award and the Hardest Working Player award.

Josh Williams was named the Rookie of the Year.

Ryan Chyzowski was named the Most Improved player, Ryan Jevne received the Unsung Hero Award and Cole Clayton was named the Scholastic Player of the Year.
