CYPRESS COUNTY, AB — Redcliff RCMP arrested two people from Manitoba on multiple charges in connection with a robbery in Saskatchewan.

According to a news release sent Friday, officers with the Integrated Traffic Unit were patrolling the Trans-Canada Highway near Range Road 101 on March 14 when they came across a vehicle parked off the highway with two people inside.

Officers conducted a query of the Saskatchewan license plate, and discovered the car was allegedly associated with a robbery in Swift Current earlier that morning. Descriptions of the vehicle in the robbery, its occupants and damage caused when fleeing the scene matched the vehicle on the road.

The two occupants were detained, and when identified, it was discovered they were breaching conditions of a previous release in Manitoba, and were subsequently arrested.

A search of the vehicle yielded a large amount of cash and other items associated with the theft, along with a quantity of suspected methamphetamine.

Robyn Boersma and Jordan Harkness-Brown, both of Carberry, Manitoba are facing multiple charges. Boersma is charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, failure to comply with recognizanze, failure to comply with probation order, possession of a schedule one substance (methamphetamine) and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
