City investigating Southridge power outage

MEDICINE HAT, AB — City crews are currently responding to a power outage in the Southridge neighbourhood.

The city posted the information about the outage around noon on Wednesday.

There is no word yet on a cause of the outage, and approximately 1,500 customers have been affected.

At 12:30 p.m., the city posted they had restored power to 840 customers, while approximately 750 customers remain without power.

At 3:50 p.m, the city posted power has returned for a majority of customers, though Strachan Court customers are still affected. 

It adds the cause of the outage has been difficult to determine and it is difficult to isolate due to infrastructure in the area being underground and some of it covered with snow
