MEDICINE HAT, AB – One game stands between the Medicine Hat Wildcats and a female peewee ‘B’ provincial title.

On Sunday morning, the host Wildcats took down the 3 C’s Coyotes in semi-final action at the provincial tournament by a 5-2 final score.

Kennedy Sisson and Brianna Finke gave Medicine Hat a 2-0 lead with goals midway through the first period, with defenceman Riley Gramlich netting an unassisted marker 7:02 into the second.

The Coyotes began to chip away at the Wildcats lead though, picking up goals from Shayelle Robertson and Alyssa Shaw late in the period to pull themselves within one goal.

Medicine Hat got the momentum back quickly though, as Finke scored her second of the game just 21 seconds into the third to boost the Wildcats lead to 4-2.

Six minutes later, Finke completed the hat-trick to give Medicine Hat a three-goal lead and ultimately the semi-final victory.

Rolling through the tournament with a perfect 4-0 record, the Wildcats will now face either the Lloydminster Blazers or Olds Grizzlys in the gold medal final.

Medicine Hat will go for gold on home ice at the Kinplex on Sunday, puck drop is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
