SACKVILLE, N.B. – A storybook season came to an end for the Medicine Hat College Rattlers women’s basketball team, dropping their final game at CCAA Nationals in New Brunswick.

The Rattlers dropped their ACAC final rematch with the St. Mary’s University Lightning 77-55 on Saturday afternoon, ending their tournament with a 0-3 record and an eighth-place finish.

It’s the best finish to a season for the Rattlers since the 2007-2008 campaign where they also went to nationals.

Seniors Kennedy Werre and Courtney Henry also took to the court for the final time as Rattlers on Saturday.

Werre, the ACAC Player of the Year and all-time ACAC rebound leader, ends her career as one of the most decorated Rattlers in the school’s history.

As for Henry, she became one of Medicine Hat’s best playmakers and finished 11th in the province with 70 assists on the season.

The Humber Hawks and the Dawson Blues are meeting Saturday in the gold medal game meanwhile to decide a national champion.
