Peewee girls hockey provincials in Medicine Hat this weekend

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The top peewee girl hockey players in the province are descending on Medicine Hat starting tonight.

The Hockey Alberta Female B Provincial Championship kicks off Thursday night at the Kinplex. The Medicine Hat Wildcats are hosting the tournament, which includes eight teams.

Round robin games begin tonight, with the Wildcats taking on the Lethbridge Cyclones at 7 p.m.

All tournament games will take place at the Kinplex, and there is no charge for fans to enter.

The Wildcats have two more round-robin games during the tournament. On Friday, the team plays the Innisfail Flyers at 2:45 p.m. On Saturday, they take on the Lloydminster Blazers at 2 p.m.

The tournament wraps up Sunday, with the top two teams in each pool playing in the semifinals. The gold medal game is scheduled for 4 p.m.
