MEDICINE HAT, AB — A Medicine Hat man who pleaded guilty to accessing child pornography last year had his sentencing adjourned.

Nolan Davidson, 25, appeared in Medicine Hat provincial court, where his matter was adjourned until May 9.

Davidson was arrested at a home in Crestwood on September 7 following an investigation from the Internet Child Exploitation Unit that began in November 2016.

Davidson was charged with one count each of possession of child pornography and accessing child pornography.

According to the release by ALERT, Davidson was identified on social media as a former camp director at Eagles Nest Ranch, a youth summer camp located in Cypress Hills Provincial Park. The camp responded following the arrest that Davidson was employed at the camp in 2013, and there was no evidence of offences committed against children who attended the camp.

Davidson pleaded guilty to the charge of accessing child pornography, while the possession charge remains before the courts. It is expected to be addressed during his appearance on May 9.
