LLOYDMINSTER, AB – Medicine Hat College’s dynasty in women’s futsal continued on Sunday, with the Rattlers earning their fifth straight provincial title at Lakeland College.

The Rattlers scored a pair of goals in the second half, while Kassidy Suberlak posted a clean sheet to see Medicine Hat take home another ACAC championship by a 3-0 score over the Lethbridge College Kodiaks.

Medicine Hat has won the women’s provincial title every year since 2013, and have won the championship six out of the last eight years.

A second medal on the day came in the men’s tournament, with the Rattlers facing the host Lakeland Rustlers in the bronze medal match after losing 6-5 to the Keyano College Huskies earlier in the day.

Tied 1-1 at halftime, the Rattlers exploded with four goals in the second half to win the bronze medal by a 5-2 score over the Rustlers.

Although Medicine Hat was unable to defend their gold from last year on the men’s side, they do maintain their consecutive medals streak at provincials.

With the futsal and volleyball seasons over, the only Rattlers team remaining for the 2017-18 season is the women’s basketball team, who will open the CCAA National Championships on Thursday in Sackville, New Brunswick.
