Rattlers futsal teams earn back-to-back wins Saturday at provincials

LLOYDMINSTER, AB – A pair of blowout victories for Medicine Hat College’s futsal teams on Saturday morning, continuing their quests for ACAC provincial titles.

After earning a 4-3 win over the Lethbridge College Kodiaks on Friday, the Rattlers women’s futsal team was able to roll through the Keyano College Huskies 6-0.

Meagan Clarke and Atlanta Evis were able to find the back of the net in the Rattlers win, while netminder Kassidy Suberlak was named player of the game.

Moving to a 2-0 record in round-robin play, the Rattlers women will wind up preliminary action on Saturday night when they face off against the 1-1 Ambrose University Lions.

As for the Rattlers men’s team, they rebounded from a 2-0 shutout loss at the hands of the Olds College Broncos on Friday to earn a 7-3 win over The King’s College Eagles.

Striker Jared Ursulan led the team with a pair of goals and was named player of the game, while goalkeeper Devin Simon played well between the posts and chipped in with a goal.

Moving to a 1-1 record themselves, the Rattlers will try to close out the round-robin with a winning record against the winless University of Alberta-Augustana Vikings.

ACAC provincial medals will be handed out with championship finals on Sunday.
