Bassano RCMP advising against non-essential travel

WHEATLAND COUNTY, AB — Heads up to drivers on the Trans-Canada Highway. Bassano RCMP are advising against non-essential travel east of Gleichen.
High winds and blowing snow have resulted in several vehicles entering the ditch in the area of the Cluny Hill. Traffic on the highway travelling west has been reduced to one lane while the scene is cleared.
The eastbound lanes remain open, however the winds and blowing snow are impacting visibility.
