Rattlers men’s basketball team out of medal contention at ACAC Championship

LETHBRIDGE, AB — The Medicine Hat College Rattlers men’s basketball team will be playing for pride at the Alberta Colleges Athletic Association Championship.

In their first game at Lethbridge College Thursday night, the Rattlers battled back in the final minutes, but were defeated 86-81 by the Lakeland College Rustlers.

Four members of the Rattlers has double digit games. Aaron Cameron led the team with 22 points, DeAngelo Ashley and Jon Sappleton each had 13 points and Vince Munoz had 10 points.

Adrian Richards led the Rustlers with 24 points, while Artavis Holiday notched 14 points and Paul Smith-Profit scored 10 points.

The loss puts the Rattlers out of medal contention, and they’ll battle the Lethbridge College Kodiaks for a spot in the fifth and sixth place game. The game gets underway at 3 p.m.
