Kwahommies look to bounce back in Cardston

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Kwahommies SV and JV girls basketball squads look to get back in the win column Monday night.

The SV team is coming off a tough 83-56 loss to the Magrath High Pandas Friday night. Despite Rhiannon Ware and Brooklyn Kaczynski combining for 37 points, the Kwahommies dropped their record to 4-6. They’ll square off against the Cardson Cougars, looking to improve their road record to 3-2. The girls are four points back of the Cardston Cougars for fourth-place in the ASAA South Zone. The Cougars won their last match up in Medicine Hat 78-60 on January 27th.

Meanwhile the JV girls are looking to bounce back from a tough loss themselves, falling 67-54 to the Pandas Friday night. Only Taya Karsten and Emma Wintoniak hit double-digits in the loss. The girls can improve to 8-3 with a victory in Cardston, the Cougars are two points ahead of Medicine Hat in league play. Cardston squeaked out a 63-62 win in Medicine Hat back on January 27th.

The JV girls get things started at 6:00 p.m. tonight, while the SV squad plays at 8:00 p.m.
