Prairie Rose closes several schools due to storm

DUNMORE, AB — Four schools in the Prairie Rose School Division are closed Thursday morning due to the winter storm.

According to the division’s website, Bow Island Elementary School, Burdett School, Seven Persons School and Senator Gershaw School are all closed due to road conditions.

The snow also causing multiple bus routes to be cancelled or run behind.

The following routes are cancelled

-All bus routes to, Foremost, Seven Persons, Bow Island and Burdett

-Route 120 – Hilda and Schuler to Eagle Butte High School

-Route 205 – South and east of Dunmore to Eagle Butte High School

-Route 308 – South and East of Elkwater to Eagle Butte High School and Feeder

-Route 509 – Brooks to Jenner

-Route 402 – Northwest of Redcliff to Redcliff

-Route 407 – Box Springs to Redcliff

-Route 109 – Southwest of Schuler to High School Bus and Schuler

The following routes were delayed Thursday morning.

-Route 204 – Walsh to Irvine is using a modified run, and parents will be contacted by the bus driver.

-Route 303 – Dunmore to Irvine – Delayed by 25 minutes.

The Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education did not cancel any bus routes or close any schools, but issued a warning to parents to be aware of the winter conditions.

SD76 also did not close any schools this morning.
